So, I'm currently trying to run linux for the first time by experimenting with the girlfriend's old laptop. I got Kubuntu installed without any problems, but don't have any internet access. It's a Dell Inspiron 1200 with no built in card, so there's a TRENDnet TEW-226PC card for that.

From fumbling around, I believe that mainly I need to install an appropriate driver. However, the webpages I found for this were somewhat hard to follow

I downloaded the compressed drivers from the first link, but I'm really having trouble figure out what to actually install, and how to do so since I'm not very comfortable using th 1f40 e terminal.

(not sure if this helps, but lspci brings up "Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co.. Ltd. RTL8180 802.11b MAC (rev 20)" for the wireless card)
